Technical Sales Representative


Reporting to the Country Manager, the primary focus of the Technical Sales Representative is to manage and grow a sales base and brand awareness for the large portfolio of Madison AV and Madison Express products and deliver profitable customer outcomes.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Country Manager, the primary focus of the Technical Sales Representative is to manage and grow a sales base and brand awareness for the large portfolio of Madison AV and MEX products and deliver profitable customer outcomes.  They identify new market opportunities and determine the most effective way to convert these opportunities into sales by making our products become a brand of choice.

Day to day in the role;

  • Provide sales and technical support for within the region. This will include the preparation of quotations, product demonstrations, participation in trade shows, instruction on product use and various other product related activities.
  • Assist with product training for end users, installation staff and contractors (as necessary).
  • Work with end users, consultants, and customers to have the Madison Technologies products specified and/or approved for use in appropriate project applications.
  • Provide feedback to Product Management and Management on market trends of new and emerging products, technologies, and market requirements both current and future.

What we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Professional with knowledge of the Audio-Visual market across New Zealand.

To be successful in the role we suggest the following attributes;

  • Proven success in a senior technical sales or business development position within either Broadcast / AV technologies and/or understanding of the Electrical Contractor/Wholesaler industry and an understanding of the technical application of the Madison products within this market.
  • Ability to effectively interface at both commercial and engineering level with integrators and contractors, end users and consultants.
  • Possess a keen sense of urgency and a “Make It Happen” customer service ethos.
  • ‘Take Ownership” mindset and a drive to present solutions to problems that arise.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills with confidence to ask for the order.
  • A team player, interested in contributing to the growth and development of the Madison Group.
  • Proactively look beyond scope of role for initiatives that add value to the overall team success.
